Testing & Inspection

In short, EICR is an MOT of your electrical system that is in place. It identifies faults by listing observations and defects and recommendations against the requirements for electrical installation standards BS7671. This is accomplished by a sequence of tests, all testing instruments are calibrated and conform with GS38 safety standards.

What we check

  • check bonding to gas water and also structural steel work
  • check condition of cables
  • check condition of the electrical system and including accessories to be fit for purpose
  • the suitability and functionality of switch and control gear
  • the type of earthing system and condition
  • the testing of residual current devices (RCD) which is a requirement for most installations, sockets, lights and special locations
  • measure earth fault loop impedances
  • check IP ratings of accessories and whether they are fit for purpose
